Survey of the Effects of Climate Change on Yield of Irrigated Wheat in Iran

Document Type : Original Article

Abstract

Agricultural sector is one of the most important economic sectors, which is depended to climate change. In this research, the effects of temperature and rainfall on wheat yield in Iran using GLS for time series and cross-section data of 14 provinces from 1991 to 2006 were evaluated. The results show that in all provinces in spite of pesticide all the inputs have positive effect on yield. In addition, rainfall has positive and temperature has negative effect on wheat production. Based on different scenarios wheat yield has shown more reaction by two methods in rainfall changing and rainfall and temperature growth on wheat yield was -7.11 and -1.31 percentages.
