In April 1993, in line with its strategic goals, the Institute for Planning and Agricultural Economics Researches the Journal of Agricultural Economics and Development with approaches to "Providing Scientific Resources and Information, Providing Solutions Out of Research on Core Issues in Agriculture, Intellectual support of the institutions responsible for agricultural development in research, promotion and dissemination of agricultural economics, explaining the role of agricultural and rural sectors in national development, encouraging agricultural economics research, development and planning in the country and creating a suitable environment for exchanging the views of experts and practitioners. Agriculture section and establishing an interaction between the university and the relevant executive agencies. This journal was awarded a scientific-research degree in February of 2000.

The Journal of Agricultural Economics and Development is indexed in the Iranian Science Citation Database (ISC), the National Magazine Database (MAGIRAN) and the Academic Jihad Scientific Database (SID).
