Developing bilateral agricultural knowledge and information system in farmer’s organizations

Abstract

 Institutionalization of participation is a topic which was under consideration in various ways in scientific – extensional communities in the last decades, but it has not been given much value in our country .  The goal of this study is to develop an extensional model to institutionalize farmers participation in farmers organizations . The method used in this study is a mixed methodology, using qualitative and quantitative approaches. In the qualitative phase, by making use of interpretive-qualitative research method , after settlement of the researcher in the target region for 6 months , about 31 rural samples and some local authorities were selected on purpose by the use of“ Snow ball “ sampling method . In the quantitative phase, different research hypothesis were tested and various aspects of the target community regarding to the main goal of the research were studied through 138 questionnaire.  By combining research findings in both qualitative and quantitative part, the bilateral model of knowledge and information was gained in order to institutionalize participation in farmer organizations. This model has various aspects and can be used in the process of creating evolution in the farming systems.
