Determination of the Optimum Cropping Pattern in Laleh Abad District of Babol Using of Linear Goal Programming Model

Abstract

Optimum cropping pattern is the program that is designed to manage the optimal combination of product location. The main objective of this paper is an application of goal programming model for determining the optimal cropping pattern and compares it with existing conditions in order to achieve economic and environmental goals simultaneously. Data were collected via completing 100 questionnaires in Laleh Abad District of Babol in 2010-11. According to the results, the proposed model can Revenue increases of 10 percent and consumption of other resources such as fertilizer, water and labor are reduced about 9 to 10 percent, which result in sustainability of resources and environmental protection in this region.
