The honey supply chain plays a strategic role in the agricultural sector due to its economic, nutritional, and environmental importance, as well as its direct contribution to food security. Despite Iran’s substantial potential in producing honey and other bee-derived products, this supply chain faces several challenges, including inadequate standardization, adulteration, colony diseases, climate dependence, weak marketing, technological limitations, and declining consumer trust. Therefore, this study aimed to conduct a strategic feasibility assessment of applying artificial intelligence in Iran’s honey supply chain. This applied study used a descriptive–analytical methodology. The required data were collected in 2025 through a review of the relevant literature, expert interviews, and questionnaires. The statistical population included experts and specialists in beekeeping and the honey supply chain, from whom 20 participants were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the SWOT framework and Internal and External Factor Evaluation matrices. The results showed that the Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix score was 2.22, while the External Factor Evaluation Matrix score was 2.15. Accordingly, Iran’s honey supply chain was placed in the WT strategic quadrant. This finding indicates that, before the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence, the supply chain needs to reduce internal weaknesses and mitigate external threats. Therefore, artificial intelligence should be adopted gradually, problem-oriented, and infrastructure-based, particularly in digital apiary registration, disease monitoring, climate early-warning systems, honey authenticity traceability, quality control, and digital training for beekeepers.
